Our beloved bass Player and song smith extraordinaire has just released this wonderful album. The band also joins him on one track . Go check it out HERE it’s worth your time.  Here is what he has to say about it  ”The project, ‘Finn’, began two years ago. After a piece of recording equipment I had recently purchased decided to go bonkers on me, I put it all up on a high shelf. I walked into the furniture and shortly after that, I did a musical, which took up much of my creative time and energy. When I returned to the project, I decided not to let lack of funds or faulty equipment get in my way. That’s really when the vision for ‘Finn’ began. It would be fun, creative, inventive. I started getting musicians to do impromptu stuff with me at open mics, just playing whatever instruments were handy. I began recording with random items around the house and borrowing instruments from friends. A few songs were added to the album including ‘Snowing In my Room’, ‘Space Monkeys’, and ‘Amaryllis’. Some sound effects that aren’t listed on the credit page include water droplets in the tub, metal objects in the oven and my stomach growling. Many local, Humboldt musicians are on ‘Finn’ as well as a long distance collaborator, all of whom are listed below and on the credit page.”

Well, this is the week. After a crazy spring that included a Colorado/Minnesota tour, then opening for the Devil Makes Three, and releasing our new CD, IOTA, we are making our way back down to the Bay Area to share it with the world. This Friday, June 24th, we play at the world famous Freight and Salvage coffee house. This gig will just be us stretching out our legs in their big beautiful room, playing two fat sets. Get your tickets early cause this could sell out!

We warm up Thursday down at the Frog and Peach in SLO. There has been a change of plans, and now we are sharing the bill with The Dead Winter Carpenters. Check ‘em out here: http://www.deadwintercarpenters.com/
This should be a rollicking good time. We look forward to seeing our SLO friends again andsleeping more than 45 minutes, as well as all the delicious farmer’s market food and mannequins.

On Saturday, we do an afternoon gig at the SF Folklife Festival, then share the stage at The Amnesia with The Real Nasty, who are real fun.

Gotta say, we are as stoked as ever to travel through the sunshine and share our foggy mountain music with all sorts of new friends. Click yourself on over to facebook and twitter for exciting/silly/nonsensical/informative updates from the road. See you soon!

Hi friends! We hope you have been enjoying the new CD, IOTA. We had a great time sharing it with all the good people who came to our Humboldt County release party at the Jambalaya.

But we are very excited to announce that we will be having our Bay Area CD release event at none other than Berkeley’s own Freight and Salvage coffee house on June 24, 2011. After three great gigs over the past year and a half, the Freight has graciously opened up their beautiful room to us to help share our music with all the fine folks of the East Bay. We can’t wait to see you there. Remember to buy your tickets early, cause after the response we got at The Waybacks show, there is no telling how fast these seats will fly.

The night before the Freight, we will be warming ourselves up in San Luis Obispo at The Frog and Peach, with The Dead Winter Carpenters. Then on Saturday, we will be crossing the bridge to play the SF Free Folk Festival during the day, and The Amnesia Bar with our friends The Real Nasty that night.

More details and fun stories will be coming soon, so be sure to tune back in, lighten up, and enjoy some great music. Happy Summer!

Wow! That’s about all we can say after such a great show with the DM3. The place was packed with happy dancing people, and we rocked with them to celebrate Earth Day 2011 like its never been rocked before! Special thanks to Humboldt Baykeeper and Pete Nichols for calling us in on this gig.

We must give special thanks again to those brave souls who, nearly two years ago, paid it forward and sponsored our as of yet unmade CD. Well, now its made, its called IOTA, and you should be getting your packages in the mail any day now…

Speaking of our new CD, our Official CD release party will be at the Jambalaya in Arcata on May 14th. So come and get it. We are working with the Humboldt Arts Project as part of their weekend long Humboldt Arts Festival to celebrate the beginning of spring and how great it is to be alive in Humboldt County. We will be sharing the show with The Beat Vixens, a local burlesque dance troupe that will surely heat up the night.
